Select Properties York History - Select Builders Yesterday

Select Properties York is the brainchild of Jamie Beavers, a York born businessman, Select is a reinvention of a brand once created by Jamie's Family.

Roll back to 1984 fresh from the building sites and recent time spent in Germany as a bricklayer Jamie’s Father, Martin along with his brother Russell (a skilled joiner) setup Select Builders.

Select Builders built extensions, loft conversions, driveways, landscaping, roofing and with a reliable set of tradesmen offered all joinery, electrical & plumbing needs to York and surround area. In the late 80s Martin & Russell parted, Russell continued in the building trade with BMJ Services. Martin continued with Select bringing his son Jamie onboard. Jamie continued to work with Martin until 2001 when he left to pursue other business interests.

Martin continued with Select until he become ill and had to stop working. Unfortunately, after a long fight with cancer Martin passed away in January 2022.

(6 months after the loss of Martin Jamie makes the decision to re-launch Select, with new logo, branding and a slight name change)

Headed up by Jamie & his wife Caitlyn, keeping it a family business Select Properties York as of 2022 takes on a similar yet different path. Select still offer Building, Repair & Maintenance work on residential & commercial properties, for private homeowners, businesses, buy to let property owners, etc

Furthermore Select have managed to build a quality portfolio of rental accommodation in York, 2, 3 & 4 bed family homes, 1, 2 & 3 Bed Student Accommodation, HMO Lets, Holiday Accommodation & Commercial Properties.
